Established in 1937, Paul W. Zimmerman Foundries Company is one of the few continually operating, family owned and run foundries in Pennsylvania. In the early days of the business, Zimmerman Foundries created custom parts for the U.S. Military and various businesses throughout the United States. As the need for parts declined and many foundries moved their operations overseas, Zimmerman Foundries decided to diversify into the Art Casting business. By the 1990’s, the majority of all castings produced by Zimmerman Foundries were bronze and aluminum tablets / plaques.

Zimmerman’s no-bake sand casting produces high-quality castings in bronze and aluminum. Our facility relies on 100% oil fired furnace melting and complete self-set casting system. Our sand casting includes a green sand molding production line and a white sand self-set production line. An in-house finishing department custom finishes, by hand, each casting to our customer’s exact specifications. Zimmerman castings and finished products range from one inch to four plus square feet and our orders range from one to four thousand plus pieces in all shapes and sizes.

In 2003 we purchased the Erie Landmark Company to offer our customers an even larger plaque selection and enhanced customer service. Using the latest technology, we are able to reproduce virtually any logo or graphic imaginable, creating tablets designed to last forever. COMPANY PRINCIPLES
Our company was founded and first operated by Paul W. Zimmerman. Our current board of directors is comprised of his three surviving children:

Paul W. Zimmerman, Jr — the oldest child of Paul and Beatrice Zimmerman, Paul has over 60 years in the foundry business. Paul became President in 1992 after his brother Jere passed away. He is responsible for shifting the focus of the business toward polymer patterns and tablet work. He is very involved in the day to day running of the foundry. Paul is a Marine Veteran of the Korean War and is very active in the veteran community. He has donated thousands of dollars and untold man hours making sure local veterans are honored.

David L. Zimmerman — the son of Paul and Beatrice Zimmerman. He worked most of his life in various community libraries and directed the activities and programs of the community bookmobile. David has been on the board as Vice President since 1992. He is active in his church and enjoys traveling the world in his retirement.

Louise Harnish — the only daughter of Paul and Beatrice Zimmerman, Louise worked in the foundry part-time in her teenage years. She married police officer Carl Harnish and has three Children and four Grandchildren. She recently retired from a long career in Heath Care. Louise has been on the board as the Secretary since 1992.

Andrea M. Zimmerman — daughter-in-law of Paul W. Zimmerman, Jr., Andrea took over as General Manager in October 2006. Her current goals for the company are to increase production to the point where more local employees can be hired, and to increase visibility of the excellent craftsmanship currently available at Zimmerman Foundries and Erie Landmark Company.

Jack Warrenfeltz — originally hired in October of 1992 as a Finisher and General Laborer, Jack’s exceptional finishing skills, his 30 years in the metal working / foundry industry and talent for fixing “everything in the place” have elevated him to his current position of Foundry Manager/Supervisor. Jack currently supervises 7 employees boasting over 168 years total industry experience.

Mary Warrenfeltz — Mary has been providing excellent customer service since April 1996. She started out in shipping, progressed to Photographic Polymer Technician and pattern making. She is currently the finest customer service representative our company has ever seen. If you have any problems or questions, Mary is the person to contact.

Trevor Edwards — Trevor is a 2004 graduate of Hempfield School District and is currently finishing his Associates Degree in Web Design at Harrisburg Area Community College. He plans to continue his education at Elizabethtown College for a B.A. in Communications. Graphic design is the intersection point between art and communication, and he can turn that combination into a fantastic plaque design.
